Your Service Technician, Kevin, called ahead and arrived on time. He was pleasant, professional, explained in sufficient details each step of the process to inspect, clean, repair and make recommendations for additional work (as may have been identified). He is very easy to work with, good at answering questions and explaining things.
Great job Kevin!
However, I would like to point out to Larry and Steve that we are 1-year into full service with these new Lenox systems and I was quite surprised and disappointed with the internal condition (particularly in the unit servicing the main level) around from the plenum, across the evap, and blower / blower box area ... corrosion, fallen insulation, excessive dust/fugitive air-born construction debris, and most concerning was the tattle-tale remnants of excess moisture and mold!
The dust / air-borne debris is certainly related to last summer/fall (2022) when the house was still under construction and Gene Fabre's workers were installing / finishing walls, floors, bathroom tiles, etc.
It was summer time and still quite hot so naturally the HVAC systems were being used. Gene told me he advised your office that filters were needed to prevent dust and other air-borne debris from entering the system. I too called your office to inform of the situation / construction status and request filters.
It wasn't until 2 or 3 months later that after I told Gene again and he too observed the lack of filtration protection that someone finally came out to install the temp filters.
I'm afraid that was too little too late and have to wonder how it may have contributed to some of the problems identified by Kevin.
I agreed with all is the recommendations for additional system protection (e.g.,added UV light to control air-borne mold, virus and bacteria in both units) and a service contract instead of a 1-time inspection / cleaning.
I also agreed to have you come back to properly clean / repair the insulation in the main level service unit around the blower and blower box.
As you can imagine, as pleased as we are with the efficiency and cost effectiveness of these systems (your records will confirm we chose to upgrade from Gene Fabre's original contractor level (13 SEER?) systems to the 16SEER VS units representing a significant charge, we are concerned about their condition only 1-year and a few months into full service and the additional costs I seem to be bearing.
I sure would appreciate having a conversation with Larry or Steven sometime soon.
Thank you all for the thorough and professional service call and a special thanks for to Kevin for doing what appears to be a great job and with a pleasant professional attitude.
Thank you,
